Snapping Hip

A condition known as "snapping hip" describes the popping or clicking sound that happens when you move the hip. You may also feel or see this "cracking" while walking, jogging, or otherwise moving the hip. It is possible for this ailment to affect one or both hips at once, and it is not always painful. There are three different sorts of causes for hip snapping.
Hip lateral snapping - This occurs when the tight iliotibial band moves over the prominent top of the thigh bone. This sliding over the thigh bone during mobilisation produces a popping sound. This condition might be brought on by a weak hip or a tight iliotibial band.
Hip anterior snapping - The flexor hip tendon of iliopsoas  may slip across the front of the hip bone to cause loud cracking of the hip. A muscular imbalance or having stiff flexor muscles can also contribute to this.
Intra-articular snapping hip - This happens on the inside of the hip joint and is brought on by an abnormal fit of the ball and socket or a tear in the cartilage lining of the joint.
