Rotator Cuff Injury
The rotator cuff is a group of muscles and tendons that surround the shoulder joint and help to stabilize and move the shoulder. Rotator cuff injuries refer to any strain or tear to one or more of these muscles or tendons.
There are two types of rotator cuff injuries:
Acute injuries: These injuries occur suddenly, often due to a fall or a sudden blow to the shoulder. They can result in partial or complete tears in the rotator cuff muscles or tendons.
Chronic injuries: These injuries develop over time, usually due to overuse or wear and tear on the shoulder joint. They can cause small tears in the rotator cuff muscles or tendons that can gradually worsen over time.
