Nerve Injury
Injuries to nerves can produce temporary or long-lasting pain and dysfunction. Injuries can come about from nutritional deficits, systemic illness, direct pressure to the nerve or through tension problems along the inelastic course of the nerve. Depending on the nerve involved, the symptoms are spread spread and can be markedly disabling.
SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS
Upper arm/elbow
The radial nerve runs from the upper arm to the wrist and fingers. Its function is to control movements and allows sensation to occur which allows us to feel heat and pain which protects us from damaging our hands. Radial nerve palsy can potentially be caused by having your arm in awkward positions for prolonged periods of time such as sleeping on the arm throughout the night.

Numbness from the arm down to the fingers
Weakness or issues with controls the muscles ranging from the arm down to the fingers
Wrists drop – when the wrists hang limp and can lift it
Problems with gripping objects
Wrist
Three nerves can be commonly affected at the wrist. On the back of the wrist, the radial nerve can be affected by fractures to the distal radius bone, while on the palm side of the wrist median nerve entrapment is common in the carpal tunnel, as is ulnar nerve compression.
