Metatarsalgia

Pain at the ball of the foot, also known as metatarsalgia, is caused by the soft tissue structures around the metatarsals (the middle section of the feet), which become inflamed and painful. This is typically brought on by repetitive shock impact to the feet from activities like running and jumping, but it can also be brought on by having your footwear too tight or too loose or being susceptible to it from having a high foot arch.
